JEANS EVERYWHERE!

I was invited by my friend to go to an event last July 21, it was a Sunday and I didn’t have anything to do so I pretty much agreed on going with her (and I looove attending events). The event was for the Jeans Festival, it was called Everything 4D Jeans Lover. It was held at the event center of SM City San Lazaro.

To be honest, I am a fan of denim but not really on jeans, because I have a hard time picking jeans, the perfect cut and the perfect size, although I don’t think I won’t have a perfect fit because of the proportions of my body. Hahaha! But I learned a lot on this event featuring fashion stylist Alexandra Lapa. She thought us how to pick the right cut for jeans. Maybe I’ll go back to wearing jeans again!

Alex advices men should pick the right kind of jeans, preferably straight cut or bootleg, because skinny jeans, although in trend, will give men a hard time wearing them, I think you know why. J A must have is a belt to complement an outfit, also the right kind of shoes, not just usual sneakers but they should also try footwear that looks casual but can also go for a formal feel.  For slim structured men, they should try wearing shorts or straight cut jeans and try putting up some cardigan or a blazer to bulk them up a bit.

Alex advises nude shoes are a must have. Same with men, layering of a blazer, but the fit should be good especially on the waist, to accentuate the curve. And high-waist bottoms for the short girls like me.

I asked a question for Miss Alex and they asked me to go up, the lights were so bright and it felt awkward for people to look at me. My question was “What jeans will you recommend to short girls?” I asked that question because I always go for jeans that look good, design and fit, doesn’t have to be in trend. She told me that I picked the right jeans. She asked me if it was mid-rise or low-rise, I told her it was mid-rise. And she went on that low-rise will make a short girl even shorter, so mid-rise or high-waist is the right fit. Depending on body shape, the cut will depend, as for me, I go for skinny jeans because of my muscular legs. It makes them look thinner. One more advice is the dark color ones make legs slimmer.

Mall-goers who were given free assessment on what to wear. They were of different body types. (And I have a bias wuth the girl with the athletic built.) Clothes were sponsored by Mossimo and Folded & Hung. Hair and make-up by Ystilo Salon and Bang’s Tony and Jackey.

The show end with some songs from Save me Hollywood! First time listening to them and they rock!
